Spring into Spring with the 2018 Lorne Calendar

November 27, 2017 BY

Spring is here, colours and contrasts are bright, Lorne’s natural playground comes alive, days get longer, night get shorter, Ugg boots go away, flip flops are dug out from cupboards, beach days linger, body boards are dusted off, sunscreen is found, kids brave the cooler ‘refreshing’ ocean water in bathers, waterfalls flow, nature grows, birds sing, bees buzz, harvests are brought in, market stalls appear, event offerings grow, happy hours get longer, menus change, food and drink flow, new spring designs pop up in window fronts, and winter months start to become a distant memory.

To keep Lorne’s distinct all season memories alive, and to launch into spring, the Lorne Calendar for 2018 is back by popular demand from local photographer Leon Walker.

The 14-page publication captures the essence of Lorne one month at a time over the 12 months of the calendar year.

From the first light of sunrise over Lorne Pier, the beautiful waterfalls in our backyard, the violet colours of morning from Scotchman’s hill, Teddys Lookout at night, the ever-changing weather of the Lorne foreshore promenade, the winter snow-capped Otway ranges or the starry Milky Way over Point Grey. A visual, ever changing, journey around Lorne

This collection of 12 photos captures Lorne’s moods and moments over each month.

This calendar has been produced to showcase the area’s rich beauty from Leon’s perspective. The visual images hopefully take people on a journey through their own memories of Lorne, or entice them to slow down and take in what is in front of them, Lorne’s natural charm.

The wire-bound calendar, whilst being a monthly calendar of images of our lovely town, can be considered as a piece of art that changes monthly.

Whether you live in Lorne, holiday here, call Lorne your second home, have timeless memories of the area, or have friends and family abroad, this is a perfect gift that envelops Lorne’s distinctive iconic and less iconic natural beauty.

This is a limited-edition production. Copies are available from HAH Lorne beach and the Lorne Post Office for $16.95.

So get in quick, before they run out and take a little bit of Lorne home with you every month of the year…
