Striking out suicide

November 18, 2022 BY

Organiser Troy Gray said the fundraising effort would bring people across the nation together to inspire others through connection, hope, fitness and fun.

A NEW 14-day campaign aims to bring awareness to the growing incidence of suicide, as well as remove the stigma and educate the public.

Strike Out Suicide will get thousands of people across the nation completing daily “boxing strikes” to raise funds and awareness to save lives.

Organiser Troy Gray from Charity TV Global said the fundraising effort would bring people across the nation together to inspire others through connection, hope, fitness and fun.

“Not everyone can do push-ups or run a marathon, but you can shadow box at the very least. No boxing experience or boxing equipment is necessary.

“We’re simply asking you to throw as many strikes as you can, over the first two weeks of December.

“Join Aussies across the country to Strike Out Suicide – a great way to advance your fitness, improve your mood, reduce stress and benefit your mental health.

“The more strikes you throw, the more you – and everyone around you – prospers. Record your sessions, keep track of your strikes and share with your networks. Seek donations, find sponsors and have an impact on mental health.

“Feel free to take part on your own or rally up some friends, family or work colleagues and start striking.”

Funds raised will support the Good Blokes Society, helping men to connect, and openly discuss their mental well-being.

Registrations for Strike Out Suicide are live.

“Would you like a world without suicide? We would,” Mr Gray said.

“Together we can save lives.”
