SUNLIGHT ON BRAIN TRAINING

The Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House will host a workshop this weekend which will teach attendees tricks to expand and strengthen their memory.

The purpose of the Super Brain Train Workshop is to learn small and achievable changes in your daily routine to improve mood and memory, and avoid dementia.

This short prevention-focused course is a fun and active-learning experience, and includes the eight pillars for Alzheimer’s prevention, how to lead a brain-healthy lifestyle, how to reduce brain fog, how to improve your brain functions and how to lift your mood.

Also, how to improve concentration skills, 10 easy things to do on a daily basis to enhance brain health, how to revitalise your brain and 16 of its essential functions.

The workshop is on this Saturday March 5 from 10am to 12.30pm.

The tutor is wellness and fitness coach Maggie Flanagan and the cost is $40, or $35 concession.

MEANWHILE, an information session next week will give attendees the chance to learn about all aspects of setting up a solar system for their home.

The session at Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House on March 10, will include what options are available, types of inverters, framing systems, how to analyse your smart meter data to help you, decide on what size system you require and how to optimise your investment by feeding your excess solar energy into your electrical hot water system.

Please bring along a block plan of your house and any trees which might shade panels and also your latest energy bill.

The session, presented by Phil Hapgood from Radiant Energy Systems, is at 3 Tobin Drive on March 10 between 7-9pm.

The cost is $20 and bookings are essential.
