THE vibrant skies of Torquay will again come alive as the Surf Coast Kite Festival returns on October 27 from 10am to 2pm at Fishermans Beach Foreshore.

This much-anticipated family event promises a fun-filled day, with giant kites soaring high, live entertainment, and activities including kite-making, wildlife displays, face painting and sports clinics for

the kids.

Proudly organised by Jan Juc Preschool, the festival is an essential community fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting the kinder.

“We love running events that bring the community together,” Jan Juc Preschool Parent Advisory Group president Paul O’Reilly said.

“Every dollar raised goes directly to the kinder, and it’s all made possible thanks to our incredible team of volunteers.”

All funds raised from the event will go towards the Jan Juc Preschool.

The event is also committed to sustainability, encouraging attendees to bring reusable cups and bottles and walk or cycle to the festival.

With local businesses sponsoring including Ghanda and Torquay Toys, and previous years’ success, the festival is expected to draw large crowds again.

Committed to sustainability, those heading along to the event are encouraged to bring reusable cups or water bottles and to walk or cycle.

Be sure to mark the calendar for this memorable day of family fun and community spirit.
