Tackle fitness in Febuary

February 1, 2018 BY

The mental and physical side effects of the holiday season can be totally consuming, according to Step into Life Torquay personal trainer Rose Constance.

“February is the perfect time to tackle your new fitness goals, when the festivities die down and ‘real life’ kicks in,” Rose said.

With some of the most startling health statistics becoming apparent in 2018, Step into Life’s founder Larry Cohen is more determined than ever to make a positive difference in the health and fitness of Australian communities.

A new Deakin University study found that waistlines of adult Australians, and particularly women, have ballooned in the past 30 years.

As Australia experiences increased rates of obesity, diabetes, smoking, problem drinking and unhealthy diets, Step into Life’s focus is on educating people everywhere on how they can take the necessary steps toward a fitter and healthier lifestyle.

“Combining this greater awareness and education with exercising outdoors in a group, will greatly impact someone’s overall life happiness,” Cohen said.

Step into Life member of 13 years Joanne Link said the “care factor” is an important consideration when selecting a fitness provider.

“My Step into Life trainer cares. She cares if I turn up to training and so do my friends at Step into Life,” Joanne said.

“The connections you make within the group are a big driver in maintaining the motivation to train.

“You do pay for your motivation, but it comes back to you in spades. I just want to enjoy these relationships and be fit enough to enjoy my life.”

After the success of Fitness NOW (National Open Week) 2017, Step into Life Torquay will be holding a Fitness NOW event February 5-11, where everyone from the local community is welcome to try Step into Life, and attend as many training sessions as they like for free.

In addition, locals who join as a member in February go into the draw for their chance to win a $2,000 Flight Centre giftcard.

Rose Constance believes Step into Life’s Open Week event is the ideal opportunity to meet the team and see if Step into Life is for you.

“No training experience is necessary. We work with people who are first-time exercisers, as well as those that are more experienced,” she said.
