The best of musical theatre in one show
Get ready to sing along to all the musical hits as The World of Musicals – in Concert comes to Geelong.
Following a sold-out Australian tour in 2022, the production has returned with a whole new show and is making its across the nation.
With an international cast, they’ll take the stage performing hits from some of the biggest musicals across all genres of musical theatre.
The concert will feature songs by Gilbert and Sullivan and Andrew Lloyd Webber through to modern hits from The Greatest Showman and Meatloaf musical Bat Out of Hell.
The World of Musicals cast member Ciarán Olohan said the show was very energetic and upbeat.
“It takes some of the most popular songs from some of the most popular musicals and puts them together in one extravaganza that’s fun for all ages.
“We really pride ourselves and try to facilitate everybody in this show, there’s hopefully something that will pique anyone and everyone’s interest.”
Audience members are encouraged to participate in the performance and sing along with the cast.
The World of Music has held performances around the world, including tours to China, Canada, Europe, and the United States.
The coming Geelong show will be its third time in this region.
“We probably had one of the best shows of the tour in 2022 in Geelong and one where everybody was singing along, everybody was getting involved in the show,” Olohan said.
“We met so many lovely people who shared their experience with musical theatre with us and we just had a lovely night, so it’s really nice and exciting to be coming back to Geelong again.”
Olohan is a self-proclaimed old soul at heart and particularly enjoys the show’s classical songs, especially from The Phantom of The Opera and The Sound of Music.
The World of Musicals – in Concert will be performed at Costa Hall, Geelong on June 2.
