The Kelpie Show will be back again at the Apollo Bay Agricultural Show this year.
THE Apollo Bay Agricultural Show will celebrate a milestone for its committee and community with its 60th anniversary event on Saturday March 19.
This year, the show will host internationally renowned chainsaw sculptor Rob Bast, a Kelpie cooking for kids), Planet Mud Segways, a vintage car and machinery showing, a Birds of Prey Full Flight show, the Dog Jump and many more attractions.
A major highlight will be the Teddy Bear Hospital, held to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Children are invited bring along a teddy for a health check-up by University of Melbourne medical students, with the aim of reducing the fear and number of questions children have about hospital environments.
Event vice-president Tara Grayson said the milestone 60th anniversary show will continue an important community tradition.
“Community events can be lost among the hustle and bustle of servicing visitors to our beautiful towns.
“The Apollo Bay Agricultural Show Committee is proud to deliver a country show that supports, showcases and engages our local community with the produce and services within Apollo Bay and the wider Otway and Colac regions.
“Furthermore, we are excited and proud to reach our 60th milestone this year which marks a fantastic period of community involvement.”
The Apollo Bay Agricultural Show is on Saturday March 19 from 9am-5pm at the Apollo Bay Recreation Reserve.
