Torquay Medical Health & Wellness Clinic is redefining healthcare on the Surf Coast with a focus on giving our patients a high quality experience and to help them on their health journey.

Up to an additional 150 appointments per day have been created for the greater Surf Coast community through the addition of 6 new practitioners to our team, with more committed in 2023.

Our aim is to increase the variety of health services we offer by including multiple General Practice services including but not limited to: men’s, women’s and children’s health, travel vaccinations, immunisation programs, chronic disease management, weight management, GP hypnotherapy, skin cancer checks, employment medicals, onsite imaging, pharmacy and pathology services, café, multiple allied health modalities and using nursing in our team of caring practitioners.

Torquay Medical Health & Wellness is part of the Geelong Medical & Health Group that has been providing our communities with quality healthcare since 1969. The state of the art building at 1-3 Cylinders Drive, Torquay has brought together elite practitioners within their fields under the one roof to provide a comprehensive, quality healthcare facility allowing patients to access many facets of health services to assist them to achieve a greater level of wellness.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday between 8am-8pm, with Saturday and Sunday appointments beginning as we approach the summer months.

Coastal Compounding Pharmacy

The team at Cottage Pharmacy Group are very excited to be opening Coastal Compounding Pharmacy at the Torquay Medical Hub.

Coastal Compounding Pharmacy has a highly skilled team that are dedicated to providing the greatest level of customised care to each patient.

We are proud to welcome a team comprising four professional and experienced pharmacists, along with 10 talented and passionate laboratory technicians and pharmacy assistants.

Owner and director, Alex Green, has been compounding for 20 years and has dedicated her career to gaining extensive knowledge in integrative medicine – a philosophy of healthcare that focuses on individual patient care. It is a combination of the best of conventional western medicine with evidence-based complementary medicine and therapies to achieve optimal health and well-being for each individual. The pharmacy specialises in formulating and making medication that is not available commercially, or medication that is out of stock.

“We understand each person is unique and, in many cases, a patient may benefit considerably from a tailored medication plan, especially when conventional therapies have not necessarily had the desired outcome. Working closely with the patient and specialists (including endocrinologists, dermatologists and paediatricians), general practitioners, naturopaths and other allied health professionals, we can help achieve wonderful health outcomes for the patient.”

We are also extremely pleased to welcome both a naturopath and a functional nutritionist to our team.

Vision Radiology

Vision Radiology is a comprehensive diagnostic medical imaging and interventional radiology service provider with multiple clinics in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Vision Radiology is owned and operated by a group of Victorian trained Radiologists who have been providing the highest level of patient-focused care, in both the public and private health sectors, for many years. Along with our technical and administrative staff, we bring a wealth of experience to the community.

Vision Radiology Torquay will provide a comprehensive sub-speciality service covering body imaging, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal and sports imaging, vascular ultrasound, and interventional radiology.

Led by Dr Ben McDonald, the team take great pride in our work, and we endeavour to provide patients and referrers with a personalised high-quality service.

Vision Radiology aim to make their services accessible to all in their local communities. This includes bulk billing for most services, including CT and ultrasound guided interventional procedures. Other services offered are X-ray, ultrasound, low-dose CT, bone densitometry, cardiac and dental imaging.

Surf Coast Physio and Pilates

Over the past four years, Lynne Watts and the team at Surf Coast Physio and Pilates have established themselves as a community favourite for women’s health physiotherapy on the Surf Coast and Geelong.

With the expansion into the new medical hub, they will now offer classes for pregnancy, rehabilitation, mat and equipment based pilates, mums and bubs and over 50s exercise alongside pelvic health and physiotherapy services.

The pelvic floor physiotherapists at the clinic all have postgraduate qualifications from Melbourne Uni and are experienced in treating bladder, bowel, sexual function, incontinence and pelvic pain issues.

The team at SCPP are working hard behind the scenes to make sure the beautiful and female-centric space in the new hub has services available to help women through all life stages; from our teens with painful periods, through the unique challenges of pregnancy and postpartum, right through to our ever-forgotten post menopausal ladies. They will look after your pelvic health and exercise requirements and are striving to do it with passion and excellence.

An exciting new addition to this service will also be treatment for breast conditions like mastitis, with staff currently up-skilling in manual techniques and the use of therapeutic ultrasound.

Flying Start Children’s Therapy

Our innovative and passionate team at Flying Start Children’s Therapy offers a variety of services including: paediatric speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychology, dietetics, diagnostic autism spectrum disorder assessments, swim programs and group programs and holiday programs for children aged 0-15.

Flying Start Children’s Therapy is a registered NDIS provider and we support those with NDIS plans as well as private paying clients and those with Medicare plans.

We understand that every child is different, and as a result the therapy approach we take for each child varies accordingly. We believe that parents and carers are a child’s first and best teacher, so it is important to us that we involve and empower them in all aspects of therapy and education. Our aim is to provide the knowledge and skills required to help a child learn and grow and our team offers support in the clinic, home and community setting as well as offering Telehealth services.

Melbourne Pathology is the premier provider of pathology services in Victoria. They are a first-class practice built on the dedication and expertise of their staff, and on customer service ensuring patients receive quality care and an outstanding pathology service.

This year marks 100 years of Melbourne Pathology, a wonderful milestone. The Melbourne Pathology collection centre at the Torquay Medical Hub is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm.

With local, friendly and experienced pathology collectors, they perform all standard blood tests and pathology collections, in addition to ECGs and Noninvasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT).

Melbourne Pathology has a local testing laboratory at Epworth Geelong to service the community and proudly employs local scientists, laboratory staff and pathologists.

Surf Coast Mind Body Health

Surf Coast Mind Body Health is a collective of psychology and allied services clinicians working toward the creation of a wellness space where clients can access individual and group services to support their wellness ideals.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to finding a well state. Our philosophy at Surf Coast Mind Body Health centres around supporting clients in the pursuit of what their own ideal for wellness looks like. We aim to provide this support and scaffolding, while tailoring the therapeutic engagement to the needs and goals of each individual.

At Surf Coast Mind Body Health, we understand this process will look different for each client. Our clinicians aim to provide an empathetic and informed approach that works to understand each client’s own unique experience. We aim to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can work towards improved coping, management of emotional distress, problem solving and the facilitation of behavioural change. Our focus is on the improved mental health and overall wellbeing of our clients, whatever that may look like to you.

Surf Coast Mind Body Health is open five days per week from 9am, with several clinicians offering after hours appointments. Our clinicians work across the lifespan in a wide range of contexts including individual, couple, and family services. A large group space is available for clinicians to utilise, and Surf Coast Mind Body Health looks forward to soon facilitating a range of group services from this space.
