Torquay Theatre Troupe gets back on stage

The coming production follows the life of three siblings and the threat of their life falling into chaos.
TORQUAY Theatre Troupe is returning to the stage for its first production following renovations.
Taking to the stage at the Shoestring Playhouse, the cast will bring Chistopher Durang’s Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike to life
The witty and bittersweet comedy, running from October 23 to November 1, is directed by award-winning director Zina Carman.

Throughout the show, audience members will follow the story of three siblings navigating the fallout of love, ageing, ambition, and family responsibility.
Hollywood star on the descent, Masha, returns home, disrupting the lives of her brother Vanya and adopted sister Sonia, threatening to sell the family home.
Carman said Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is a comedy, but not a straight comedy.

“It has layers, with poignant moments alongside laugh-out-loud exchanges.
“Audiences will recognise themselves in these characters – their struggles with caring for parents, fears of ageing, and the messy but vital bonds between siblings.”
Inspired by Chekhov, audience members don’t need any prior knowledge of the Russian playwright, with classic characters with sharp contemporary humour.
The Torquay Theatre Troupe has been on hiatus for almost a year for renovations and is returning better than ever to the theatre scene.
