UNEARTH VICTORIA’S BEST KEPT SECRET
The Pyrenees is a spectacular central Victorian hidden gem, best known for its award-winning wineries, arts, agriculture and the Avoca Races.
Those who enjoy a journey of the senses will love discovering Pyrenees Unearthed, a new festival bringing together wine, art and racing over the Anzac Day long weekend.
The inaugural event will come alive on Saturday April 23 with the launch of the Avoca Art Exhibition and Sale and Artists Award Gala.
Festival-goers can also enjoy cellar door experiences where there will be a good chance of meeting the winemaker in person among many other activities on offer.
On the Sunday, meander through the Avoca Riverside Markets en route to the Avoca Wine Festival, featuring food, wine, live music, free kids activities, games and more.
Camping will be available at Avoca Racecourse where campers and anyone else can join P.W Billy and Trevor Moore around the bonfire for a good old fashioned sing-a-long.
A ticket to The Bonfire Bash also includes a barbecue dinner, marshmallows for roasting and access to a pop-up games room.
On the Monday, take part in the dawn service at the Avoca RSL followed by the family-friendly Anzac Day Races.
A southern extension of the Great Dividing Range, the Pyrenees has tracks for off-road driving, trail biking, mountain-bike riding and bushwalking and the foothills and ranges also create a remarkable diversity of microclimates for winemakers.
Fall in love with a region ready to be discovered at Pyrenees Unearthed.
