Wine lovers lace up for the Grapest 5K Run

The Grapest 5K Run invites fitness enthusiasts and wine connoisseurs alike to indulge in the perfect blend of physical activity and wine appreciation.

This weekend, the picturesque Leura Park Estate in The Bellarine is set to host its fifth annual Grapest 5K Run, an event that combines outdoor exercise and wine tasting, promising a unique and enjoyable experience for participants.

The Grapest 5K Run invites fitness enthusiasts and wine connoisseurs alike to indulge in the perfect blend of physical activity and wine appreciation. The event is scheduled to start at 12 noon on Saturday, October 7, with registrations opening at 11:30 am.

Participants can choose between a 5km or 10km run around the winery course, with a more leisurely 1km Wine Waddle available for those looking to enjoy the scenery and wine tasting at a more relaxed pace. Along the route, “Grapesters” will have the opportunity to taste eight different wines and ciders at various stations, making the run feel like a delightful journey through the vines.

The Grapest 5K Run has been a resounding success in previous years, offering a unique fitness and wine-tasting experience in various iconic Australian wine regions. From Victoria to New South Wales, South Australia to Queensland, Western Australia to Canberra, and even Tasmania, wine-loving fitness enthusiasts have had the chance to explore picturesque vineyards while savoring premium wines.

Tickets for the event are priced from $31.50 for access to the live band after-party, with options for the Wine Waddle and Band available at $50. For those looking for the full experience, including the 5km or 10km run, Wine Waddle, and Band access, tickets are priced at $70.

In addition to the wine-tasting and fitness activities, participants will receive a custom wine glass attached to a lanyard, a Grapest wristband, and a unique ‘Sip Happens’ bottle stopper finisher’s medal. The day’s festivities will conclude with great food, wine, and live music featuring the legendary local band, Test Pilot Molly.
