With more than 20 years’ experience in the legal industry, Fiona McCord started Base Legal to provide practical, affordable legal services to small business.

Fiona identified that the cost of legal services was prohibitive to small business owners and decided to do something about it by offering fixed fee services.

Base Legal is now in its fifth year and Fiona has serviced hundreds of clients both locally, and online.

“I love working with small businesses, and start-ups, especially in the technology space,” Fiona said.

“I have an ongoing relationship with many of my clients where I am essentially part of the business.

“They can come to me with questions and seek advice without having to worry about bill shock”.

Fiona also runs workshops and presentations to help small business owners increase knowledge of legal requirements.

“You don’t know what you don’t know, and I believe in empowering business owners to make informed decisions about their business,” she said.

Fiona is passionate about giving back to her community and offers discounted services to not-for profit organisations.

“Not-for-profit organisations should not be exposed to legal risk, simply because they can’t afford a lawyer,” she said.
