Working tirelessly for you

November 6, 2017 BY

I LOVE Geelong, where I have lived and worked for more than 40 years.

I will fight for the council to deliver its core responsibilities: free hard rubbish collection and tip vouchers; fixing roads and potholes; making our community safer; and improving sporting clubs and community facilities. Recently I led the fight to save Highton Library and promise to keep our local libraries open.

We need a long-term vision to be a clever, cultural and innovative destination – a place that’s great for families and provides jobs through growing local business and attracting more organisations to Geelong. This is achievable by keeping rates low and implementing streamlined and sensitive planning. I work for people with disabilities to give them choice and control, and I continue this advocacy in our community. This year, I am your only candidate who advocated when council administrators tried to close local libraries, made planning decisions detrimental to our communities and obtained improved flood protection for residents. What have other Kardinia candidates done for our community?

I am proud to support the Belmont Lions Sports Club, Grovedale FNC, South Barwon FNC, Geelong Amateur FNC and their associated Cricket Clubs.

I have a long record of community service including Give Where You Live, Rotary, Beyond Blue, Relay for Life and Geelong Sustainability Group.

I’m a former chef but still love to barbecue for Lions on Australia Day and the homeless on Christmas Day at Christ Church.

I promise to work tirelessly for you and respectfully request that you Vote 1 Ron Nelson. Head to ronnelson.com.au or phone 0429 531 875.
