A golden night for Suns
THE Surf Coast Suns have celebrated the halfway point of their inaugural senior Bellarine Football Netball League (BFNL) season with the club’s first senior Suns Ball.
More than 180 players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and supporters gathered at RACV Resort Torquay for the event, which recognised the progress made since the launch of the club’s senior football and netball programs.
Surf Coast Suns netball president Claire Sadler said the occasion was made even sweeter following the A-grade side’s win over Torquay earlier in the day.
“As a club, our players, coaches and volunteers are working incredibly hard right now,” she said.
“One of the key values we are continuing to embed in our culture is that nothing comes for free. Success is earned through hard work, consistency and commitment. Wins are never a given. They are the result of the effort put in day after day.
“Seeing everyone on the dance floor was also a great reminder of another important club value: people first, sport second.
“While we all strive for success. It’s the connections, friendships and enjoyment we share along the way that matter most. After all, if we’re not having a good time doing it, we’re not doing it right.”
