A market for the senses in Aireys

June 5, 2019 BY

Award-winning garlic growers Ben and John Olliff (Freshwater Creek Organic Garlic) will attend the Aireys Inlet Foodie market this Sunday.

AIREYS Inlet’s annual “Foodie” market is locked in for this Sunday June 9, with homemade treats and locally grown produce on offer to sample and/or purchase.

A Love Winter in Aireys event, the market will showcase delicious fare from some of the region’s finest food producers.

Market organiser Libby Stapleton said the Foodie market has become a highlight on the Aireys calendar and one of the biggest markets of the year.

“This is definitely a crowd favourite. People love to sample different things, maybe foods they’ve never tried before,” she said.

“The great thing is, you’re getting food that is made locally and lovingly – you can taste the quality and the goodness, and who doesn’t love to treat themselves with yummy hot food on a cold winter’s day?”

The selection will include organic popcorn, woodfired pizza, tacos, crepes, momos (dumplings), gluten-free donuts, potato sticks and more.

Marketgoers will also have the chance to sort through a wide selection of locally grown/made pantry staples such as extra virgin olive oil, honey, garlic, sourdough bread, leaf tea, organic coffee, olives, nuts and muesli.

Aireys’ beloved arts and crafts folk will also be in attendance, offering goods from handcrafted furniture and timber products to journals and children’s clothing.

The market will be on from 9am-1pm this Sunday June 9 at Aireys Inlet Community Hall (6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet). For more details, visit facebook.com/aireysinletmarket or aireysinletmarket.com.au.
