DOMINO’s Torquay has helped show their appreciation to local health workers in the way they know best.
With nurses and medical staff from the COVID-19 testing clinic at Torquay Community Health working long days to keep the community safe, the team at Domino’s Torquay decided to treat them to some of their pizzas as a show of gratitude.
Domino’s Torquay owner Anil Pola said he wanted the healthcare workers to know they were appreciated.
“The dedicated nurses and medical staff at the Torquay COVID-19 testing clinic have been working up to 10-hours a day to help keep our community safe,” Mr Pola said.
“In an effort to show our appreciation and support, Domino’s Torquay donated more than 20 safe, hot meals to the hard-working team for lunch. I know it’s only a small gesture, but it’s our way of letting our local community know we’re thinking of them during these challenging times.”
In the following days, Torquay Domino’s sent more than 150 hot meals to about 30 local businesses using their Zero Contact Delivery.
Mr Pola said they wanted to show unity in difficult times.
“We hope to not only help feed the community but also deliver Torquay locals a smile and a reminder that we are all in this together,” he said.
“These difficult times have highlighted just how important it is to look out for your local community. As a small business owner, I am passionate about giving back to the local community in which we operate, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do so at this time.”
