Aireys Inlet Music Open Mic Festival ‘mystery guest’ announced
THE Aireys Inlet Music Open Mic Festival line up has been announced, with special guest Josh Teskey, from The Teskey Brothers making an appearance at the Aireys Pub on Friday, March 18.
From Friday, March 18 to Sunday, March 20, the annual festival will be hosted across a number of venues in Aireys Inlet, with the a line up of more established acts playing at the Aireys Inlet Pub throughout the weekend.
For over a decade, the festival has supported up-and-coming local musicians by giving them a platform to perform.
Festival director Tim Wood said the Aireys Inlet Music Festival is moving towards also supporting artists financially, with 100 per cent of the profits from paid tickets going to artists and donations encouraged at all free performances.
“This year our motto is ‘Pay what you think it’s worth’, and we think it’s worth a lot,” Mr Wood said.
“The entertainment industry in all forms has been decimated and we want to give our artists a small taste of what recovery can look like.”
Mr Wood said the Aireys Inlet Music Open Mic Festival has supported local artists with a platform for 14 years, but now is the time to support musicians financially as well as provide the community with the light-hearted celebration of a music festival after a tough two years.
Alongside Josh Teskey, this year the Aireys Pub will host many well renowned artists, including:
Checkerboard Lounge
Localles
Forever Son
Owsley
Seb Szabo
Mojo Corner
Smoke Stack Rhino
CJ Commerford and the Supertones
Honk
Strathmore Collective
Lucy Lorenne
Libby Steel

Local artists will also be playing across town at venues such as the Great Ocean Road Gin Tasting Room, The Captain of Aireys, A La Grecque, Great Ocean Road Mini Golf and more.
