THE Aireys Inlet Pub will host a special raffle night to raise funds for wounded children and babies in Gaza, led by 92-year-old local Noreen Dooley.
The event aims to raise funds to support the work of Dr Mohammed Mustafa, or Dr Mo, who has recently returned to from his second volunteer medical mission to Gaza.
An Australian resident, Dr Mo has made multiple trips to the war-stricken city of Gaza to assist with treating young children who have been injured in attacks.
Mo’s current goal is to fund a mobile children’s hospital in the Palestinian city, which Ms Dooley has been assisting with.

Fellow Aireys Inlet local Kendra Harding reached out to this masthead about the fundraising event, and Ms Dooley’s work, and expressed her appreciation for the 92-year-old’s efforts.
“[Dooley] is an inspiration with her positive outlook on life,” Ms Harding said.
“She is the main reason the community wants to support raising money for Dr Mo.”
The raffle night, to take place on August 1, will include a comedy show from Melbourne’s Jeremy Dooley and various prizes will be up for grabs.
These prizes include local accessories and artworks, such as a crossbody shoulder bag, hand-knitted fingerless mittens and a framed oil painting.
“Noreen is raising funds for ANMF nurses and midwives through a GoFundMe campaign for Dr Mo’s mission to heal wounded children and babies in Gaza,” Ms Harding said
“To support this cause, Noreen [has made] handmade bracelets in the colours of the Palestine flag, which will be available for purchase at the Aireys Inlet Post Office (cash only) or on the raffle night.
“Come and enjoy a night of laughter, community, and support for a meaningful cause.”
The raffle will be drawn at 6pm. Happy hour will run from 4.30pm to 6pm.
