Aireys summer market returns
LOCALS and visitors alike have embraced Sunday’s return of the summer markets to Aireys Inlet.
One of the most loved markets along the Surf Coast, the Aireys Inlet Market features a hand-picked selection of the region’s best arts, handcrafted goods, gourmet treats and local produce.
“It’s been so important to have the Aireys Inlet Market up and running again this summer,” Nicky Hulme from StarShine Jewellery said.
“With markets being so irregular due to COVID, it was challenging for many stallholders.”
Based in Jan Juc, Nicky and her husband Shane have come to rely on the Aireys Inlet Market as an important part of their livelihood and ability to live/work on the Surf Coast.
The market is building on its reputation for providing an eclectic selection of authentic homegrown, handmade, recycled, vintage and local items. The majority of stalls are from the local area, ensuring market-goers are regularly presented with a mix of fresh creativity, along with regular favourites.
Caroline Mogic, from Plump Cushions, is a Geelong-based artisan and sells at many markets.
“The Aireys market is one of the consistently best performing markets I have come across,” she said.
“We are looking forward to catching up with new visitors and regular visitors alike.
“It’s lovely to be able to talk about your products and interact with customers.”
The Aireys Inlet Market runs at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall, 6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet on selected Sundays during the year.
Coming market dates are January 16, January 23 and February 13 from 9am-1pm.
