Aireys summer markets continue
THOUSANDS of visitors to the Surf Coast have joined locals to welcome in the new year at the latest of a series of weekly summer markets at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall.
The Aireys Inlet Market is a favourite for locals and holiday-makers on the Surf Coast, with weekly Sunday markets from Christmas until the end of January, providing an easy option to buy local supplies and groceries during the busy peak period.
Visitors enjoy access to a range of regional produce and supplies, from Otway Prime meat and Bellarine smoked fish, to fresh vegetables, fruit and seasonal berries, cheeses, gourmet coffee and leaf tea, honey, cordial, wine, gin, preserves, fresh flowers and more.
The market also features a hand-picked, high-quality selection of the region’s best arts, handcrafted goods, plants, street food and local treats such as the OMG Decadent Donuts, offering customers a special gluten-free, vegan treat to enjoy.
“We are excited to be able to offer local artisans, creators and growers the opportunity to be a part of the Aireys Inlet Market community,” market administrator Fay Valcanis said.
“The market has a strong community essence that allows stallholders to connect with new and existing customers and promote the best of the region.”
The market caters for 60 stallholders, who are predominately from the local area, and is set in the surrounds of the Aireys Inlet community hall.
From bespoke ceramics to handcrafted clothing, woodwork and art, the market caters for a wide variety of products making it an ideal day out to browse, buy or meet up for lunch or a coffee with friends.
Aireys Inlet Market will operate from 9am to 1pm at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall, 6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet on Sunday, January 19 and January 26.
