Airshow announces new world class displays
PREPARATIONS are ramping up for the 2023 Australian International Airshow, with more activations and displays including some of the world’s best flying teams being added to the huge spectacle this March.
Set to take place at Avalon Airport on Friday, March 3 to Sunday, March 5, the three-day aviation extravaganza will showcase a wide range of military and civil displays on the ground and in the air and provide plane enthusiasts with plenty of family friendly entertainment.
Regarded as the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, the Airshow is set to bring three new teams to the sky in 2023, including first timers the F-22 Raptors (United States Air Force).
Known for their stealth, supercruise, maneuverability and integrated avionics, the United States team will be joined by one of the world’s most highly regarded military jet display teams, the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) Black Eagles aerobatic team as well as the Scandinavian Wing Walkers who will be making their second appearance at Avalon after some breathtaking skillful routines in 2019.
“The countdown is on until the 2023 Australian International Airshow,” AMDA Foundation CEO, Justin Giddings said.
“With less than a month until patrons descend onto Avalon Airport, we’re excited to reveal that for the first time, the United States Air Force will be showcasing one of the world’s most highly regarded military jets, the F-22 Raptor.
“Alongside the F-22 Raptor, there will be teams from the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, New Zealand and more.
“Airshow 2023 is all about presenting new and exciting displays and aircraft across the spectrum of aviation, from Australia and around the world.”
With tickets selling out fast, attendees can secure a chance to also catch a performance by the Air Force Band during the Friday night spectacular, as well as access an all new Tech Zone featuring interactive simulator flying activation.
