All Aboard DisABILITY services host Coker
ALL Aboard disABILITY Support Services recently welcomed Corangamite federal member Libby Coker for a special morning tea and a lively question-and-answer session.
The event marked the celebration of the charitable organisation’s newest addition—a state-of-the-art coffee machine, made possible by a grant from QANTAS.
The coffee machine was acquired with the purpose of educating and providing vocational skills to the adult participants, while also creating a social environment that reflects the vibrant atmosphere of a café.
Ms Coker joined the team in sharing the first brews, accompanied by an assortment of handmade sweet treats.
During her visit, she engaged with participants, answering a wide range of thoughtful questions with honesty and good humour.
The questions covered various topics, from her experiences as a woman in politics to her thoughts on what kind of Prime Minister she might be.
Participants also asked more personal questions, such as how she spends her free time and whether she has any pets.
In addition, Ms. Coker addressed important issues surrounding the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), candidly discussing the challenges and realities of providing support to adults with disabilities under the current system. Her openness and willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue were greatly appreciated by everyone present.
“It was a pleasure to visit All Aboard disability in Torquay that is doing extraordinary work in our community, offering invaluable support to adults with disabilities,” Ms Coker said.
“Their dedication to improving the lives of those they serve is inspiring, and their programs create opportunities for inclusion, independence, and empowerment.”
The morning was not only a celebration of the new coffee machine but also a chance to strengthen the connection between All Aboard disABILITY Support Services and the broader community through a shared exchange of ideas and experiences.
