A SURF Coast charity is calling on the community to come together and form an auxiliary to help support the organisation.

All Aboard DisABILITY Services is looking to form the volunteer group to assist them with their regular fundraising efforts.

All Aboard co-founder Kate Marshall said the charity needed a regular income stream to enable its work in supporting adults living with a disability.

“Because we’re so engaged and hands-on with the participants, it would be great to have a separate group who could be behind the scenes making plans and working out how best we could raise funds.

“We’re not going to stop what we do, we will continue with our fundraising efforts as well, but it would be nice to have a little bit more support in different ways.”

People who are motivated, with some available time, passion, a sense of fun and wanting to give back to the community would be well suited to the auxiliary.

“They don’t necessarily have to have experience already, we welcome anybody,” Ms Marshall said.

“Many hands make light work as they say, it could just be a group of people who are getting together for some creative purpose and wanting to do something and make a difference.”

Ms Marshall said she wants the auxiliary to be the most social on the Surf Coast.

“Perhaps a group of friends that could get together on a regular basis over coffee, we can certainly provide where they meet.

“But what time or what they want to do is kind of up to them, a lot of autonomy for a group of passionate, creative individuals.

“I really want this to be flexible, I don’t want people to feel forced to follow a particular procedure, I just want a group of friends to get together and have some fun while doing good.”

Anyone wanting to join the auxiliary or find out more information is urged to contact Ms Marshall by emailing [email protected]
