Anglesea Cheer Site has something big in store

January 24, 2018 BY

ANGLESEA is just one of the communities showing its enthusiasm for the coming Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, with the town’s businesses collaborating to come up with a clever design for this year’s event.

The Anglesea Cheer Site will be located at the driveway of Coastal Forest Lodge on Forest Road, and will again feature a race theme and art piece in the front paddock.

A giant kangaroo was made from mountain bikes for the 2016 race by Alan of Coastal Forest Lodge and Simon from GORATS (Great Ocean Road Adventure Tours), and received major international coverage and huge social media attention.

This year, Adrift Sculpture’s Peter Day has been commissioned to build a “Figure on Bike” using large silage hay bales and brightly coloured milk crates.

People are invited to come to the Anglesea Cheer Site from noon on Sunday.
