THE Sands Torquay held its annual Breast Cancer Charity Ladies Golf Day on Thursday last week, raising about $19,500 in support of research into breast cancer.

In good golfing weather, 100 women golfers dressed in pink joined the event to show their support, taking part in donations, on-course activities, a putting competition, raffles, and a silent auction featuring items generously provided by local Torquay businesses.

The Sands Torquay again hosted the annual event, which raises money for Breast Cancer Trials.

Guests also enjoyed a banquet lunch and pink-themed desserts, creating a festive and meaningful atmosphere hosted by The Sands.

The day was backed by several hole sponsors, including Surfcoast Carpet Cleaning, White Kat, Vision Radiology, MCG Signs, Harry Brown, Quay Osteo, Peaches, The Golf Lab, The Wine Store, McCartney Real Estate, Sunday Golf, Spornia, Taylor Golf, Surfcoast Wholefoods, Don Smallgoods, and Torquay Eye Care.

Other local businesses contributed prizes and silent auction items.

The funds raised will go to Breast Cancer Trials, one of the world’s leading breast cancer research organisations, committed to developing more effective treatments and prevention strategies for those affected by breast cancer.
