Annual feast highlights community strength

AN annual feast showcasing the skills of migrant refugees has contributed again to the annual Feed Geelong Appeal.

The annual Feed Geelong Appeal/Staying Grounded Feast collaboration was held for the fifth year.

Staying Grounded Training & Employment program female participants helped produce a tasty Afghan feast for guests and Give Where You Live representatives, each enjoying a two-course share-style meal, highlighting the abundance of farm produce on offer at the Common Ground Project.

“We recognise the urgent need to improve food security in our region and Give Where You Live’s Feed Geelong Appeal aims to address that concern,” Common Ground chief executive officer Felicity Jacob said.

Proceeds from the tickets went towards the training and employment for future program participants, but also to the Feed Geelong Appeal.
