APCO Foundation is community-minded
As a family-run company, the APCO team decided to give back to the local communities that had always supported them.
Since 2013, APCO franchisees, head office and corporate partners have supported the APCO Foundation to make a difference in local and regional communities.
The APCO Foundation makes donations locally in Geelong, the Surf Coast and throughout Victoria, proudly supporting three major charity partners; Cop “N” Kids, an organisation providing a support network for families who have children suffering from cancer or other serious illnesses; Cottage by the Sea, an organisation providing care and support to children from challenging backgrounds throughout Victoria.
The final organisation supported by APCO is Headspace, recently receiving a cheque for $40,000.
Headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services for 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing.
As part of the APCO Foundations commitment to improving mental health in the community over $5,000 was raised for R U OK?, a suicide prevention charity in Australia, reminding people that having meaningful conversations with mates and loved ones could save lives.
APCO’s Fuel for a Cause program raises funds through customer donation boxes located on the counters of APCO service stations and through the sale of APCO branded products in store.
The APCO head office has been just as committed and raises funds for the Foundation through donating 10 cents for every bag of Chill Treats, Chill Water and APCO brand oil sold.
The APCO Foundation, with the assistance of Pure Wax selling quality car care products on the forecourts across APCO, raises much needed funds for the charities supported by the foundation.
On Tuesday, 22-cent Twosdays is held, where 22 cents from every coffee sold across the APCO network is donated to the APCO Foundation. This initiative has raised substantial funds for the APCO Foundation.
The APCO Foundation also conducts two major events across the Geelong and Surf Coast region, including its annual Race for a Reason race day at the Geelong Racing Club, which has raised in excess of $100,000 since 2014.
The other major event organised by the APCO Foundation is the APCO Foundation Geelong Heritage Wine Walk.
This event will be held on Saturday February 10 next year and will be the third running of the annual event.
The APCO Foundation is currently working toward placing a defibrillator in every APCO store to directly save the lives of customers at APCO stores.
