ARGONAUT NESTLED UP INSIDE PAPER NAUTILUS

AFTER reading “Nautilus discovery no. 3” in last week’s edition, Dave Cartin called in to say he found afemale argonaut inside a nautilus paper shell on Australia Day at Kennett River. This account now marks the fourth nautilus discovery reported to the Surf Coast Times, Bellarine Times and Armstrong Creek Times this year; however, Mr Cartin is the first to spot a female argonaut housed inside the rare shell. After capturing a few images of his extraordinary find, Mr Cartin released the argonaut back into the ocean.
