Armstrong Creek bus service underway
ARMSTRONG Creek has been given a new bus route to help give the community better links to key local destinations.
South Barwon MP Darren Cheeseman said the new bus route, which began operating on October 6, was a great convenience for locals.
“This is the service the Armstrong Creek community has been waiting for, with direct connections to train lines, shops, schools and other important local services.”
“Originally this service was scheduled to begin in early 2020, but I am proud to have successfully lobbied for the service to be moved forward to October 6.”
The new Route 45 follows the path the community advocated for by petition. It goes to Warralily Village Shopping Centre, Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre and Waurn Ponds Station.
It operates with 16 return services on weekdays from 6am-9pm, nine return services on Saturday from 6.40am to 7.40pm, and seven on Sunday from 8am to 5.30pm.
During school times there is also one morning and afternoon service extended to Oberon High School. This service co-ordinates with school times to help Armstrong Creek students get to their classes on time.
Eight new bus stops have been installed in addition to the 29 stops built by the Armstrong Creek estate developer.
