EARLIER this month, Asbury residents and their families and friends gathered at a community event to celebrate the official opening of the Armstrong Creek estate’s newest park, the Ashbury Boulevard Reserve.

The underwater-themed event featured plenty of activities from the Come and Sea marquee with its popular silent disco and the chance to meet a mermaid and pose for a photo with her, to roving entertainment around the Reserve including jellyfish, sea horses, the Bubble Pirates and even a Sea Creature on Stilts.

The park’s opening had an underwater theme.

Attendees could also try their hand at sea-themed crafts including sand art and seashell painting, or have their faces painted with underwater inspired designs.

The Chill Out Zone provided the perfect place for anyone keen to indulge in a little time out, grab some pizza, sausages, ice-cream and snowcones and relax on deck chair under an umbrella, while more competitive eventgoers took the opportunity to challenge friends and neighbours in a round or two of lawn games.
