TORQUAY’S Hoop Gallery is now presenting Ashmore Connections, a vibrant group exhibition running until October 5.
The exhibition brings together five exceptional artists — David Graham, Lauren J Marshall, Angela Nicholson, Samantha Leggett and Lorraine Archibald — whose works span sculpture, photography and painting.
As members of Ashmore Arts and the Surf Coast creative community, these artists explore the theme of connection in bold and boundary-breaking ways.
Virginia Aldred, president of Hoop Gallery said Ashmore Connections invited viewers to reflect on how we connect deeply to each other, to place, and to artistic expression.

“The exhibition features expressive paintings and intricate drawings that delve into personal narratives of identity, hand-forged sculptures that embody the tactile essence of connection, and photography that documents the artists’ creative journeys and shared spaces.
“Hoop Gallery invites art lovers, local residents, and regional visitors to experience the scale and brilliance of this extraordinary exhibition. Come explore the bold, the beautiful, and the boundary-breaking.”
As a not-for-profit gallery managed by Surf Coast Art Space Inc., Hoop Gallery is more than a venue — it is a creative destination.

“We’re not just a gallery — we’re a creative destination for inspiration and innovation,” Ms Aldred said.
“Artists and the community can build something extraordinary together. Hoop Gallery is where creativity meets community.”
Hoop Gallery is in the Multi-Arts Centre at 77 Beach Road, Torquay, and is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 11am to 4pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
