Aussie pool team shows its heart
A GENEROUS community of Australian pool builders have banded together to raise thousands of dollars for the bushfire volunteers who battled the country’s devastating summer blazes.
The Narellan Group network has raked in $18,000 to support brave firefighters within the Victoria Country Fire Authority, New South Wales Rural Fire Service and Queensland Rural Fire Service.
The fundraising campaign was kicked off by Narellan Pools Sunshine Coast franchisee Mark Martin, who pledged to donate a percentage of each pool sold during January to bushfire volunteers.
Other franchisees across the network, including Geelong’s Stefan Tamassy, followed suit.
“These volunteers have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect people, property and animals across the country, and as a community we wanted to show our respect and appreciation for these brave firefighters,” Mr Tamassy said.
Managing director Chris Meyer said he was overwhelmed by the generosity of Narellan Pools franchisees.
“Our community of franchisees continue to inspire us and calling on us to support the bushfire crisis is no different,” Mr Meyer said.
“We know and trust these organisations will put these funds to great use and help take care of those remarkable Australians who put their lives on the line for our country.”
