THE annual Ardene Australian White stud ewe and ram sale saw a fantastic turnout for the last sale to be held at their Darlington property in Western Victoria before moving the breeding operation to Mt Torrens South Australia.

First to auction were 20 stud ewes that sold to a top of $2,750 with keen interest from a Western Australia buyer who is starting up her own Australian White stud.

Up next were the stud rams with all 10 selling to a top of $4,000, to be followed by flock rams which sold to $3,000 with an average of $1,240, which considering the tough conditions effecting most of regional Australia, was still a good result.

With many new and repeat buyers again supporting this sale, Ardene principals Bruce and Jannie Hodgson said that they would like to thank everyone who attended their annual sale.

“We appreciate the ongoing support of our returning clients, many whom have come back for the third time, and warmly welcome our new buyers.

“We are in the process of moving our stud to the new property in Mt Torrens and look forward to seeing everyone at our next sale there.”
