Barwon South West firefighters wanted for summer
RECRUITMENT is now underway for project firefighters in Barwon South West region.
Assistant chief fire officer Andrew Morrow said that the role provides people with a great opportunity for people looking for interesting job where they are also serving the community.
“Project Firefighters are on the frontline fighting bushfires, conducting planned burns and undertaking roadside vegetation and fire trail maintenance.
“No two days are the same, and this is a great opportunity to learn new skills and be part of a diverse and inclusive team that helps protect the Barwon South West community.”
There are currently 73 position available for general firefighters and fire support officers in the Barwon South West region, 40 positions available in the Far South West District and 33 Otway District.
Employment is full-time for a period of up to 26 weeks, generally starting between November and April. Applications close Sunday 25 August.
