THE Geelong Chamber of Commerce has announced a rescheduled date for its postponed corporate breakfast “Beyond Solar: The future of energy for business”.

Originally to be held on June 8 but postponed due to the latest COVID-19 lockdown, the event will now be held on August 10 in the same venue; RACV Torquay Resort.

Speakers will discuss how businesses are moving beyond solar to smart integrated clean energy solutions, including the shift to a two-sided energy marketplace and how local businesses can realise both financial and environmental benefits.

The three speakers are:

  • RACV Solar chief executive officer Andy McCarthy – Born and raised in Geelong, Mr McCarthy is a lifelong advocate for renewable energy. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Mr McCarthy has played a key role in developing innovative and industry-leading projects to accelerate the shift towards renewable energy, battery storage and electric vehicles. As chief executive officer of RACV Solar, he and his team have made the company the benchmark across residential and commercial solar, as well as a trusted voice for government and industry bodies to formulate policies and industry framework.
  • Mondo general manager of energy services Jodie Hallam – Ms Hallam has more than 15 years’ experience in senior roles, focused on managing operational, delivery and commercial outcomes in the energy sector. Her passion for innovation drives her and the team at Mondo Energy Services (Victoria’s largest ASX-listed utility company) to help customers transition to renewable energy and create value from decentralised energy generation.
  • GreenLight executive officer Trina Butko – Ms Butko is the new head of GreenLight, a social enterprise of the Geelong Sustainability Group. GreenLight is a leading provider of sustainability services in the Geelong and wider Barwon South West region.

Beyond Solar: The future of energy for business is being presented with thanks to sponsors Geelong Sustainability, Mondo and RACV Solar, and will be held at RACV Torquay Resort, 1 Great Ocean Road, Torquay on August 10 from 7-8.45am.

As numbers to the breakfast remain limited, the Geelong Chamber of Commerce asks ticketholders who can no longer attend this event to contact Raechel Gleeson as soon as possible by emailing [email protected].
