Blackman’s Brewery goes local for its strawberry gose

December 5, 2018 BY

Staff and friends from Blackman’s Brewery visited Surf Coast Strawberry Fields on Monday.

BLACKMAN’S Brewery didn’t have to travel far to find fruit for their coming strawberry gose, which will be the final beer in the Torquay brewery’s gose series for the year.

Staff from Blackman’s visited Surf Coast Strawberry Fields on Monday to hand-pick 40 kilograms of the locally grown strawberries for the sour wheat beer, which also includes salt water collected from the nearby ocean.

The strawberry gose will be launched today (Thursday, December 6), alongside a watermelon gose.

Jess Blackman from Blackman’s Brewery said the company always made sure they sourced local fresh ingredients for their beers, and loved to support local businesses and farmers.

“After the recent strawberry saga we thought it was absolutely critical to support the local strawberry farmers and what better way to do it than get the team together and head down to the Surf Coast Strawberry Fields?

“There’s a real sense of support and community with local Torquay businesses especially in our industry and we just love that we have an opportunity to continue this support.”

The Blackman’s Brewery philosophy is “We love good beer, it’s really that simple”, with the aim of making their beers with the best quality ingredients they can get their hands on.

The brewery is heading into its fifth year and has announced it will release a limited edition Christmas Box for beer lovers, which features 12 Blackman’s beers (including the strawberry gose) to help you count down to Christmas Day.
