Bomb threat sparks evacuation and shuts down Marshall Station

A BOMB threat this evening (Wednesday, July 23) has halted Geelong-bound trains and trigged a police operation at Marshall Station.

A spokesperson for Victoria Police said the alarm was raised at about 8pm, when a call was made to station staff warning of a bomb on board a V/Line train.

The train was evacuated, and no one was injured.

Marshall Station remains cordoned off, with police at both entrances turning the public away, while coaches will replace all remaining Geelong line trains this evening.

No services are running between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds stations.
