Boxwood carrying songs across time

Now in its fifth year, the concert will feature Celtic and early music from some of the finest domestic and international traditional musicians.

International talents include Canadian flutist Chris Norman, best known for playing in the ceilidh scene in Titanic; Irish flutist Catherine McEvoy; American harpist and oboist Shelley Phillips; and small pipes player Tim Cummings, also from America.

From Australia are fiddle players Rob Zielenski and Shane Lestideau, harpist Andy Rigby, and guitarist Declan Simpson.

A particularly special feature of the concert will be Mr Lestideau’s performance on an historic violin that used to be played at silent films in the very same town hall.

The instrument is being loaned by Queenscliff raised historian and tuba player Ron Hodgetts.

There will also be local craft beers and wines from Ocean Grove-based Brewicolo for sale.

The concert is run with the support of Culture Ireland, Canadian Heritage, and National Celtic Festival.
