TORQUAY business Braille Sign Supplies recently won Regional Business of the Year at the Geelong Business Excellence Awards.

Braille Sign Supplies were also finalists in the “Advanced Manufacturing and Industry” and “Innovation Research and Development” categories.

The business has enjoyed significant growth in recent years, and now has signage in airports, universities and hospitals across the country, and even signs in Parliament House.

Yet they also maintain a local focus, having recently worked on signs for Jan Juc Life Saving Club, the Armstrong Creek shopping centre and the Surf Coast Shire.

Director Travis Ashford said he was flattered by receiving the award.

“We always work hard,” Mr Ashford said.

“But it’s nice to get some formal recognition.”

Mr Ashford has been helping the visually disabled for 17 years, and the recognition is well deserved.
