Builder’s big walk helps children make a wish

November 1, 2018 BY

Aaron Anstis presents the $10,688.85 donation to Michelle Monaghan from Make-A Wish Australia.

LOCAL Hotondo Homes builder Aaron Anstis has never been one to shy away from a challenge.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite – he’ll always up the ante and raise the stakes when it comes to fundraising for a great cause.

Since 2014, Hotondo Homes has been a proud partner of Make-A-Wish Australia and during these four years Aaron is continually creating new and exciting ways to fundraise wherever he can.

Being a big family man and a dedicated father of two boys, it’s not hard to see why this is a cause that he holds close to his heart.

“Whenever I complete a challenge I feel very proud, not only of myself but also of the support that is generated and the awareness raised for Make-A-Wish and all they do,” Aaron said.

Aaron’s last fundraising efforts saw him walk 100 kilometres to raise more than $10,000 for Make-A-Wish, and though his feet were sore and blistered, his mind was already racing again with new fundraising ideas.

So, what could possibly top a hundred-kilometre trek? A bike ride from Geelong to Adelaide of course!

Aaron put his body – and heart – through its paces again to raise much needed funds for Make-A-Wish. Aaron completed the ride in three days, despite being met with some windy riding conditions, and, at the end of the ride, was thrilled to discover his efforts raised more than $6,000 for the charity.
