Fairhaven SLSC to host Bushfire Planning Workshop

January 6, 2020 BY

Community groups and clubs are able to arrange tailored fire safety sessions for their members by contacting their regional CFA headquarters.

THE Fairhaven Surf Life Saving Club and CFA South West are inviting people to attend their Bushfire Planning Workshop in Fairhaven on Thursday, January 9.

The workshop will help people develop a step-by-step fire safety plan.

The CFA will give people practical advice on their new or existing plans.

The CFA is emphasising the great anxiety that bushfires create when they strike. It is thus important to have a well thought-out plan before the fire happens, ensuring people can make the right decision if the time comes.

Attendees can share their ideas as well as local knowledge to help shape other people’s plans.

The workshop at the Fairhaven SLSC clubhouse begins at 2.30pm and will run for two to three hours.

CFA South West will also hold a similar workshop at Apollo Bay on January 18. This will begin at 10am.

Community groups and clubs are able to arrange tailored fire safety sessions for their members by contacting their regional CFA headquarters.

CFA provides Community Information Guides that offer information specific to people’s townships.
