THE new BWS store in Lorne has officially opened, welcoming both locals and tourists to the popular seaside Victorian community.

The store has created six new jobs, including two full-time and four casual positions.

Store manager Tim McDonald said the opening was an exciting opportunity for the local community to access a wide range of premium and local products, along with traditional favourites.

“We are all excited to be part of the Lorne community and can’t wait to showcase what we have in store,” Mr McDonald said.

“All of our team members live locally or in the region and love what Lorne and the Great Ocean Road community has to offer.

“It’s relaxed lifestyle surrounded by stunning beaches, beautiful scenery, vibrant food and wine scene as well as local artistry.

“It’s a prime destination for locals and tourists alike and we can’t wait to welcome them all into our store.”

BWS Lorne features local wines, including selections from Leura Park Estate, a renowned producer of premium cool maritime climate wines established in 1995.

“We are extremely privileged to have local wines including Leura Park Estate to name just a few in store,” Mr McDonald said.

“These producers are well known throughout the local community and we are proud to be able to support them.”

Team members have received extensive training, learning about Australia’s award-winning wine regions, European wine regions, and spirits.

They have also completed modules in social responsibility, workplace health and safety, cyber security, competition and consumer law, and code of conduct.

BWS will offer complimentary tastings today (Friday, May 17) from 3pm to 5pm.
