BUSINESS and Tourism Anglesea (BATA) are giving local children the chance to win $150 cash and a share of local prizes in this year’s ‘Spring in Anglesea Video and Photography Competition’.

BATA is encouraging children aged between 5 and 18 years old who have a strong passion for their local community to capture their favourite Anglesea place or experience this spring either with a photo or video that highlights the town through their own eyes.

BATA president Matt Jones said the initiative would allow children and their families to share what they love about their locality.

“Spring is an amazing time of year to spend capturing the elements of Anglesea, we have the amazing wildflowers and orchids in bloom in the heathland, beautiful beaches to enjoy, mountain bike and hiking trails, kayaking on the river, surfing and of course all the fantastic cafes, restaurants and retail shops,” Mr Jones said.

“The competition really promotes children to get out and capture their favourite parts of our community from their own perspective.

“Being school holidays, this is a great way to get kids and their families out and about enjoying Anglesea and we can’t wait to see all the amazing entries over the next few weeks.”

The top video will win $150, while the top photo winner will earn $100.

Runners-up will receive prizes from local businesses, including wetsuits, café and retail vouchers, mini golf packages and much more.

Photos and videos received from entrants will be shared on the official Anglesea Facebook and Instagram pages @AngleseaAdventure during Spring.

To enter, submit photos and videos to [email protected]

Entrants are also asked to attach their full name and contact number in their email.

Entries close on Sunday October 9.
