ACTIVTIES and attractions will fill the grounds of Clairvaux Catholic School in Belmont on November 16 as the Clairvaux Carnivale returns.

The biennial event is the school’s major fundraiser of the year, with the 2024 edition to raise money for school playground upgrades.

Clairvaux Carnivale co-ordinator Jane Clark said it was the biggest event on the school calendar, attracting families from across Geelong.

“It’s a real celebration of our school community spirit, with months of planning and hundreds of volunteers coming together to make the day a success and raise funds for our school.”

Organised by the Clairvaux Parents and Friends Association, this year’s event will be packed with sideshow games, hot food stalls, high tea, amusement rides, sumo wrestling suits and much more.

Dazzling Dan the Magic Man, Cheer Geelong, Belmont High School Bands and the Clairvaux Choir will take to the stage while live piano music will play at the High Tea.

Facepainting and fairy floss will be on offer at the upcoming carnivale.

More than $20,000 worth of donations from businesses across the community will be up for grabs in the silent auction, attendees will also be able to bid on a Geelong Cats guernsey, signed by Gary Ablett Senior, hire of a Mustang and holiday accommodation.

Ms Clark said each year, they try to make the event bigger and better.

“This year’s exciting new additions include a performance by the award-winning Cheer Geelong, an action-packed team sports zone and all the sparkling colour of a giant bubbles station.

“We’re so appreciative of all the local businesses who have supported this event, and it’s thanks to their generosity that we have so many amazing items in our silent auction and thousands of dollars in prizes to be won on the day.”

The carnivale will run from 10am until 3pm, entry into the event is free with ride passes available.
