Catch a movie, catch a train, head to a market

THE Bells Beach Surf Film Festival is gearing up to celebrate one of Australia’s greatest surf filmmakers, Dick Hoole, at Torquay’s Australian National Surfing Museum this Friday April 19. The film festival will honour the diversity of Hoole’s cinematography work and filmmaking dating back to 1975. Dick Hoole will host a conversation with the audience on the night. The museum is located at 77 Beach Road, Torquay.

Bellarine Railway will host a 45-minute scenic return train ride in celebration of Easter on Saturday April 20 and Sunday April 21. There will be a “bunny spotto” activity with prizes to be won as well as an Easter egg hunt for the little ones. Tickets can be purchased online at bellarinerailway.com.au.

The Aireys Inlet Market will return this weekend for Easter Sunday (April 21). The annual Easter market at Aireys Inlet boasts 60-plus stalls of handmade and homegrowntreats, featuring a hand-picked selection of the region’s best arts, crafts and local produce. Locally made sourdough hot cross buns are set to be a crowd favourite. The market will be on from 9am-1pm at Aireys Inlet Community Hall, 6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet.
