CATS fans have got their claws out and are ready for another big year thanks to the return of the popular footy ferries that will take them to the MCG again in 2023.

In partnership with the Geelong Cats, Port Phillip Ferries will be offering two-way services from Cunningham Pier in Geelong to Victoria Harbour in Docklands to coincide with Cats MCG games, and it all starts this evening (March 17) against the Collingwood Magpies.

This evening’s service will depart Geelong Waterfront at 5pm and arrive at Docklands at 6pm, before heading back to Geelong at 11:40pm (1am arrival).

Port Phillip Ferries marketing manager Brad Wright said the team were thrilled to be providing the comfortable service to passengers again in season 2023.

“The ferry offers more comfortable service than your crowded trains and busy freeways,” Wright said.

“We have designed the timetable to give fans plenty of time from when the ferry pulls into the first bounce so there’s no stress.

“Also, this year for the first time we are offering the late-night ferry back to Geelong after the game so you can get home easily on the ferry also.

“This is the third year of our partnership with the Cats, and every year the Footy Ferry is getting bigger and bigger.

“We hope that Cats Fans will jump onboard again and choose to get to the footy, and home again, the easy way.”

Wright said that the ferry will once again come with all fantastic creature comforts including an onboard café/bar, free Wi-Fi, bike racks and charging stations.

In a major win for Cats fan, anyone who jumps on the ferry this evening (5pm) will get a Cats cap or scarf from the membership team.
