MOUNT Duneed Regional Primary School will get $3.6 million for upgrades if Labor wins the coming state election.

Last week, South Barwon MP Darren Cheeseman visited the school to pledge funds that would deliver the remaining works in the school’s master plan, including extension and refurbishment to the BER (Building the Education Revolution) building, removal of two relocatable buildings and landscaping.

This would be on top of the more than $2.2 million Labor has already invested at Mount Duneed Regional Primary School.

“Every family deserves a great local school and a re-elected Andrews Labor Government will deliver better facilities for Mount Duneed and Armstrong Creek students to have the world-class classrooms they deserve.

“The best teachers aren’t able to do the best job without the facilities to match. That’s why the Andrews Labor Government has invested more than $12.8 billion to build and upgrade schools in every corner of the state – making sure every kid has every chance.”

Labor says it has already funded or opened 75 of the 100 new schools the party committed to build by 206 and delivered more than 1,850 upgrades to schools since coming to government, supported more than 17,400 jobs in construction alone through building and upgrading these schools, and invested more in student mental health and wellbeing than any other jurisdiction in Australia, including putting mental health workers into every government school.

“Our teachers do an amazing job educating Victorian students and that’s why we deliver so many new and upgraded classrooms and facilities at schools right across the state,” Minister for Education Natalie Hutchins said.

“We want our teachers and students to have what they need to succeed in the classroom.”
