Christian College Geelong appoints new executive principal
DR MATHILDA Joubert has been appointed the new executive principal of Christian College Geelong, and will take up the role from the beginning of next year.
The board of Christian College Geelong announced Dr Joubert’s appointment last week, and described her as an outstanding educator, thinker, mentor and leader who was well placed to lead the college into the future.
Having worked professionally in South Africa, the UK and Australia, Dr Joubert brings many years of experience as a teacher, leader, mentor, advisor, and consultant in education, innovation and creativity to the role.
Presently executive principal at Sheridan Institute of Higher Education, she previously served for seven years as principal of the Swan Christian Education Association Institute of Teaching and Learning, where she oversaw strategic leadership of school improvement, teacher professional development and leadership development for 500 staff across seven schools.
Dr Joubert has been an expert advisor to the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, the evaluator for several educational programs in Western Australia, and has authored more than 90 publications on creativity, innovation, teaching, learning and leadership.
She holds two bachelor’s and three master’s degrees (in music, languages, education, cognitive neuropsychology, and business) and a PhD in Education from UWA focused on the assessment of student creative thinking skills.

Christian College Geelong has campuses in Belmont, Drysdale, Highton, Torquay, and Waurn Ponds.
