Christmas jingles in the streets of Anglesea
MORE than 150 people packed the main shopping village strip of Anglesea on Friday evening for the Coastal Chrissy – Anglesea Christmas in the Street celebration.
Spearheaded by local individuals and community businesses in Anglesea, the coastal Christmas event featured a series of festive activations and activities for people of all ages.
Local Christmas carolers belted out some of their favourite festive season classics, lucky children greeted Santa on the back of the Anglesea CFA truck, and others gave their last-minute Christmas letters to Postie Cam who is now on his way to the North Pole to deliver letters to Santa Claus.
Event organiser Corinne Nigro from the Anglesea News and Lotto said the celebration was a great way to spread the ho
liday season cheer in the community.
“An event of this nature is all about the community working together and working for the sole purpose of bringing people together,” she said.
It was fantastic to see everyone roving around the streets and shopping village checking out the various businesses and getting in the festive spirit.
“Postie Cam coming through was a definite highlight. The kids loved giving him the letters, and some even received letters back from Santaon the evening too!
“A huge thanks to all the businesses who banded together to help put it on. Merry Christmas to all.”
