Colac is into its first Geelong Netball League Grand Final since 2009 with a one-point win over South Barwon, 42-41.

A reasonably balanced first half preceded a turbulent second as Colac rode a 13-5 third term to lead by six at the final break.

The Swans fought gallantly in the fourth but would ultimately fall just short of a Grand Final berth.

Colac’s Winch sisters were again on point. Bec Winch finished with 16 goals, Jaymie Finch had 15 and Michelle Winch had 11.

South Barwon league best-and-fairest Ellen Doyle concluded the day with 23 goals, while captain Olivia Cameron had 18.

Colac’s best on court were listed as Emily Murfitt, Brooke Allan and Bec Winch.

The Tigers now have the ultimate challenge of trying to defeat Newtown & Chilwell in a Grand Final at St Albans next Saturday, September 17, a feat no team has accomplished in the past seven attempts.
